One Response to Pablo Casals, J. S. Bach, Suite for solo cello No. 1 in G major

So good to see this. I haven't heard anyone mention Pablo Casals in years, yet he was once *the* great cellist of the world. It seems the great dead, particularly if they're performing artists, just fall off the map once they're gone.

Years ago I walked into Stacey's Books in SF and asked if they had anything on Margot Fonteyn. The young woman behind the counter said "Who is Margot Fonteyn?" To one generation you can be a performer of global reputation – to the next, completely unknown. Or is it something about *this* generation?
